The University of Havana, abbreviated UH was founded on January 5, 1728, making it the oldest university in Cuba. It is located in Havana's Vedado district.

About the Location

Havana is the capital of Cuba. The 16th century Spanish colonial architecture located in the old town includes the Castillo de la Real Fuerza, a fortress with a maritime museum. The Havana Capitol is a landmark from the 1920s. Also in the old town are the baroque Catedral de San Cristóbal and Plaza Vieja, whose buildings reflect the city's lively architectural mix.
