About HHN

Our professors and teaching staff have first-hand industry experience. They have all worked in a company for several years and can show you how to apply  what you are studying in a professional setting.

During your HNN course and also in student projects and in the practical semester, you will repeatedly combine theoretical knowledge with the practical requirements in the company.

Teaching needs research: Universities of applied sciences such as HHN are engaged in intensive research. Even as a student – on Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes – you will apply your knowledge from the lecture hall in the laboratory and actively contribute to research projects. 

At the HNH every student matters to us! That is why we teach you in small groups. You will attend most lectures and courses together with the same fellow students so that you can get to know each other well and exchange ideas. Your lecturers will also know you personally and will be there for you if you have any questions.

If you take part in a mentoring programme such as EinstiegIng , a mentor from a higher year will also help you in navigating your way in the university world.

And if things aren’t going so well? If you have any learning difficulties or exam nerves, our team at the Central Student Advisory Service will always have a personal contact at your side to help you. 

At HNN you benefit from the high density of leading global companies established in the local region. These include AUDI, Würth, Getrag, Bechtle, IDS, Kaufland, Lidl, ebm papst, Ziehl-Abegg, Valeo and many more. Not all of these are household names. The companies are often medium-sized enterprises and so-called ‘hidden champions’: Only few people know them and yet they occupy the top international positions in their branch of industry.

That is to your advantage: A place for your internship semester, a working student job alongside your studies, the written dissertation completed within a company and seamless job entry after your studies are practically guaranteed 

That’s quite simple with our Studium Generale programme. Our numerous courses and workshops can help you learn a new language, brush up your MS Office skills and include a wide range of cultural offerings. This broadens your horizon and is positive for your personal development.

In addition, as a student of HHN you can access 90 courses at the AIM (Academy for Innovative Education and Management Heilbronn-Franconia) free of charge and thus further your education in a variety of ways. 

New countries, new people, new experiences: Furthermore, studying at the HHN prepares you for international professional employment. In addition to your studies, you have the opportunity to learn foreign languages and prepare for a job in a globally operating company.

Thanks to our network of some 220 partner universities, there is no problem in arranging a semester abroad.

You can also gain experience all over the world outside the university: during an international internship semester spent at a company. The academic and campus life of HHN are, of course, also enriched by the cultural diversity of your fellow students from all over the world.

During the welcome days at Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences you will get to know the campus and your fellow students. You will also be assigned mentors who will support you during your initial period.
