I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to visit Mysuru and Bengaluru with a group of fifteen talented students from our Business Master Program HUGS. Our partner institution, the SDM Institute for Management Development in Mysuru, India, invited us for a week-long visit to the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) and Würth Elektronik, as well as lectures on Doing Business in India and Cultural Awareness from February 20th to February 28th, 2023. Learning about the economics, politics, cultural differences, Indian society, values, and how to treat people was an eye-opening experience.
In addition to the high quality of lectures and the hospitality of all colleagues, we also got a glimpse of SDMIMD’s impressive efforts in the field of social responsibility projects in the area. Seeing the enthusiasm of Indian professors and students for social projects and microfinancing will definitely change the awareness of India in our institution and my students’ lives. They worked on projects related to dairy activities and renewable energy, women's empowerment, and microfinance alongside their Indian counterparts and presented them in front of the faculty. I also had the honor of teaching highly motivated SDMIMD Management students about new trends in Digital Human Resource Management from a German perspective. Additionally, we had the opportunity to experience India's wildlife, culture, and delicious food.
I want to thank NRP for this opportunity and all of our colleagues and students. This study tour has definitely changed our lives.
And finally, a teacher who can say that she has worked and observed monkeys in the trees in front of the lecture hall at the same time can consider herself very blessed.
