Library ​usage regulations of Heilbronn University

Registration for use of LIV Library

Registration takes place upon personal application on campus in the library building (Bildungscampus 15) or by requesting the registration form info@liv-bib.de. Staff ID or Student ID are required to register. Students of HHN, DHBW Heilbronn and DHBW CAS will be automatically registered during the matriculation process.

Members of HHN (Heilbronn University of Applied Science), DHBW (Corporate State University of Baden-Württemberg) and TUM Campus Heilbronn (Technical University of Munich Campus Heilbronn) can register free of charge.

Members of the institutions located on the Bildungscampus can register as external users of the LIV Library, also free of charge:

Terms of use

Applicants from TUM Campus Heilbronn and external users are assigned to Heilbronn University. For further information: Usage regulations and fee regulations.

  • Loan period for books: 21 days, renewable up to 6 times
  • Period of loan for magazines: 3 days, no extension possible
  • Reference holdings (e.g. semester collections, loose-leaf collections) cannot be borrowed
  • Interlibrary loan fee: 1.50 € per order and medium
  • The use of electronic media is only possible on site within the library building

Rules for Returning of Media
  • Bildungscampus, HN-Sontheim: 24/7 automated returning machine
  • Künzelsau, Schwäbisch Hall: 24/7 non-automated returning box
  • Books can be returned on all sites of LIV Library regardless of where you originally checked them out.
  • Return by post / DHL to Heilbronn University, Library LIV, Max-Planck-Str. 39, 74081 Heilbronn or Bibliothek LIV, Bildungscampus 15, 74076 Heilbronn. We recommend a return as a small parcel (trackable and insured).
