The Department for Equality and Diversity assists HHN in accomplishing its mission to create equal opportunities and promote diversity.


Concept Development

We formulate strategies to foster equal opportunities, facilitate participation, and prevent discrimination.

What does diversity mean?

The aim of Diversity Management at HHN is to create an equitable, inclusive, and discrimination-free university where diversity is celebrated, and everyone can fully realize their potential. 

Under the banner of diversity, HHN encompasses the following thematic areas: 

  • Gender equality
  • Anti-racism
  • Religious diversity
  • Inclusion
  • Sexual and gender diversity
  • Ageism
  • Family-friendliness
  • Educational equity 

How is diversity work organised at HHN?

The Department for Equality and Diversity is a department within the Prorectorate for International Affairs and Diversity. We work closely with the Gender Equality Officer, the Equal Opportunities Officer, the representatives against discrimination and bullying as well as the representative body for severely disabled people. Our work is supported by the Senate Commission on Equality and Diversity and the Family Working Group.

What are our specific projects?

Current projects of our unit include the Family-Friendly University Audit, anti-discrimination work, initiatives to support women and international students, as well as the oversight of the Room of Silence. Here you can find an overview of or projects.
