Application Process for Incomings

Incomings from our partner universities must first be officially nominated for a study period at Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences. It is assumed that applicants have successfully completed a full academic year at their home university.

Nomination deadlines:

  • 1st May for the following winter semester
  • 15th November for the following summer semester

Incoming students will then receive confirmation of their nomination from the International Office in Heilbronn along with further information, including the link for our online application portal.



For incoming students from our partner universities, there are two application deadlines per year:

Application deadlines:

  • 15th May for the following winter semester

  • 1st December for the following summer semester

Please note:

We can only consider applications that have been submitted online with all of the necessary documents ( !!! ) within the application deadline.

By the application deadline date, students must have filled in the online application forms, printed them out and had them signed (by the responsible person at their home institution). Together with their full application, they must upload the following documents:

  • a passport-sized photo (not a photo of your passport!)
  • a passport copy (non-EU students) or ID card copy (EU students)
  • Curriculum Vitae (in German or English)
  • a certified copy of transcript of records  (German or English version with signature and stamp from the coordinator at the home institution)
  • Choice of Subjects (download of the form to be used is available in the online application portal)
  • registration for German intensive course (only for winter semester)
  • application form signed by the student and with a signature and stamp from the coordinator at the home institution
  • registration for the introduction programme


Additional for applicants of master courses:

  •  Certified copy of the bachelor's certificate (English version with signature and stamp from your coordinator at your home institution).


  • Please take notice of the following language requirements
  • International Business & Intercultural Managment (MIBIM) and International Tourism Management (MITM): The programmes are completely taught in English. In order to assure a high quality of English in the Master course, applicants are required to prove a high proficiency in English. Please use the following link for more details.
  • Nachhaltige Tourismusentwicklung (NTE): The languages of instruction are German and English. Language requirements
  • Master in Unternehmensführung/ Master in Business Management (MU)

Admission requirements are a good knowledge of the English language. Please see language requirement.

Proof must be provided by presenting one of the following certificates:

> TOEFL test (paper-based version) with at least 543 points

> TOEFL test (internet-based version) with at least 85 points

> IELTS Test Level 6.5 (in all modules)

> UCLES test (Cambridge Certificate) with at least 173 points

> ICC test (Certificate in English for Business Purpose) with at least 60 points

> BEC test (Business English Certificate) with at least BEC Vantage

> TOEIC test with at least 785 points

> Unicert test with at least level 2

> KMK certificate with at least level 3

> AACSB English B2 Ability Test with at least an approved score

The certificate must not be older than three years by the application deadline. If the applicant has a degree in English from a country with English as an official language, the proof is waived.

  • Elektrotechnik (MEE): The programme is taught in German.Language requirement
  • International Marketing and Communication (MBM): The languages of instruction are German and English. Language requirements
  • Business Analytics, Controlling & Consulting (MAC): The languages of instruction are German and English. Language requirements

After the completion of the uploads of all application documents, we will send you a letter of admission, including all further information on your studies at our University, within four to six weeks following the application deadline.

If you have applied for a room at one of our student accommodations, you will be informed from mid-July onwards (for the winter semester) or from mid-January onwards (for the summer semester) of whether you will get the room.

In the time following you will receive e-mails from the International Office (io-incomings@hs-heilbronn.de ).

Please check your incoming mail regularly and respond to our request (e.g. opening of bank account, health insurance, room search, semester fee)
