Before applying to Heilbronn University, non-German Bachelor degrees need to be declared equivalent to a German first degree. This equivalence review is conducted by the Studienkolleg Konstanz. With the respective Studienkolleg Certificate and further required documents applicants can apply to Heilbronn University.
The application procedure step by step:
1st step: Application to the Studienkolleg Center for International Students in Konstanz (“Studienkolleg Konstanz”)
In order to have their qualifications validated, applicants have to contact the Studienkolleg Konstanz. The Studienkolleg Konstanz will assess the foreign Bachelor's degree and decide if it meets the requirements for entering a Master's degree programme in Germany.
Applicants should contact the Studienkolleg Konstanz directly to learn about the documents which need to be handed in for the validation.
Please note the differing application deadline of the Studienkolleg Konstanz:
1st June for the winter semester
Further information of the Studienkolleg Konstanz can be found on their website.
Please note: If awarded a first degree by a Chinese*, Vietnamese, Mongolian, or Indian institution, its eligibility must be confirmed by the APS of the German Embassy in Beijing (https://china.diplo.de/), Hanoi (https://vietnam.diplo.de/), Ulan Bator (https://ulan-bator.diplo.de/), or New Dehli (https://aps-india.de/). This step must be completed in addition to the Studienkolleg Konstanz process.
*Except Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan.
2nd step: Application to Heilbronn University
After the recognition of the foreign degree by the Studienkolleg Konstanz by means of their certificate ("Studienkolleg Certificate"), applicants can apply at Heilbronn University. To do so the Studienkolleg Certificate must be sent together with the Heilbronn University Application Form and copies of all other required application documents.
Applications can only be taken into consideration if all required documents (including the Studienkolleg Certificate) are received at Heilbronn University by July 15 at the latest. Please note this is a cut-off date.
