IB Masters Excursion to Berlin

MIBIM and MITM students recently spent a week in Berlin as part of an excursion that not only immersed them in a vibrant, historic and culturally diverse German city, but gave students particular insights into one of our program’s focus areas, the Asia-Pacific region. In addition to various tours, students visited the Embassy of Mongolia to learn about political and economic aspects of Mongolia and it’s current tourism campaign, met the Nepalese Ambassador to Germany at the Embassy of Nepal, and gained an especially insightful understanding of international startup ecosystems with Asia Berlin, a program of the Berlin Senat that promotes internationalization efforts of and exchange between Asian and Berlin startups.

6th International Day

The focus of the "6th International Day", which took place on May 11, 2022, was on the topics of internationality and culture. As part of a diverse program, participants were able to attend presentations on topics such as stays abroad, the IB Faculty Buddy Program and the Global Career Platform "Highered". This year's keynote was given by Sabrina Dick, IBIS Alumna and Human Resources Director SAP Central and Eastern Europe, with personal insights on the topic "Every Crisis brings Opportunity for those who see it". In addition, numerous information and country stands offered the opportunity to learn more about individual countries and cultures, such as the Arab region, Ukraine, South America, Turkey, Finland, Francophone countries and many more. In addition to the offer of country-specific, culinary specialties, there was also music typical of the country. One could also learn the typical dance steps of the respective culture. The atmosphere was exuberant and inspiring! In this setting, students, staff and professors were able to experience the advantages of internationality and a stay abroad in a very practical way.
