Buddy Program of the Faculty of International Business

What is the Buddy Program?

The Buddy Programme matches international exchange students like you that are staying here for one or two terms with students of Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences. Your local buddy will be there for you to help you with academic or private matters during your stay in Germany.

Our Goal: Integration, orientation and intercultural exchange! 

For International Students

  • Open to get to know locals during your semester abroad and to imroveyou language skills?
  • Looking to get to know German culture?
  • Happy to have someone to turn to when having problems or just wanting to hang out?

For Buddies (Local Students)

  • Intenational experience 
  • Develop soft skills 
  • Great addition to your CV
  • Participation certificate

How Does the Program Work? ​

Before the semester starts: 

  • Matching of Buddy and Incoming 
  • First contact via email or WhatsApp 

At the beginning of the semester:

  • Welcome and first steps together
  • Join our welcome events 

During the semester:

  • Shared activities: trips, study sessions, culture nights 
  • Support with university related topics (if needed) 

At the end of the semester:

  • Feedback (all students)  & certification of participation (only for locals)

How to apply?

International Students: 

The International Office will send you a link for the general application for exchange students, please answer the question: "Do you want to participate in the Buddy Programme?" with a "YES" and we will find you a buddy. 

Buddy (local Students): 

  • Fill out the form on the HHN website: 
  • Application Deadeline for winter term 25/26:   30.05.25-30.06.25
