Application deadlines

Summer term: 15th January
Start of lectures: mid March

Winter term : 15th July 
Start of lectures: end of September

For Bachelor's and Master's degree programs with direct enrollment, the application deadline is generally the start of the lecture period.

If the end of the application period falls on a Sunday or a public holiday, the application period ends at this day and is not extended. The date of receipt of the application at the university is decisive, not the date of the postmark.

Applications which are submitted after the deadline, or which are incomplete, will not be considered.

Certificates of recognition

If you have completed your higher education entrance qualification abroad, you will need a certificate of recognition before applying to HHN. Please take care of the recognition of your certificates as early as possible. The certificate of recognition must be received by HHN by the application deadline (15.01./15.07).

Applicants for Bachelor's and Master's programmes in Medical Informatics ("Medizinische Informatik") are obliged to comply with different regulations (see below).

The Center for International Students is the central point of contact for those interested in universities of applied science in Baden-Württemberg with regard to advice, certificate recognition and German examinations.

Please take care of the recognition of your certificates as early as possible. The certificate of recognition must be received by the HHN by the application deadline (15.01./15.07.). Please note that the center for International Students has an average processing time of four weeks.

Your application can only be considered if all required documents (including the certification of the Center for International Students) reached Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences on the due date (January 15 for the summer semester and July 15 for the winter semester). Please note that theses are cut-off periods. In individual cases, recognition from uniassist can also be accepted, provided that this has already been done.

For German nationals who have completed their Abitur abroad, who still reside abroad and would like to study in Baden-Württemberg, or who have acquired a higher education entrance qualification abroad and are resident in Baden-Württemberg, the higher education entrance qualification is recognized by the

If you live in another federal state, the certificate recognition office of this federal state is responsible.

Applicants with a high school diploma from a German school abroad can apply directly to Heilbronn University. Recognition of the university entrance qualification (HZB) and proof of German language skills are not required.

The HHN is a cooperation partner of the World Association of German Schools Abroad.

International applicants for Medical Informatics ("Medizinische Informatik") do not have to send their documents to the Center for International Students in Konstanz.

They only have to send their documents to Heilbronn University of Applied Science.

For study applications from China, Vietnam or India, the original certificate confirming the authenticity of their documents or the original certificate from the "Akademische Prüfstelle" ("APS") must be enclosed.

Language requirements

For most programmes, the language of instruction is German and you will need a German language certificate for admission.

Some Master-programmes are taught in English.

Tuition fees

International students from not EU/EAA states applying for a degree in the state of Baden-Württemberg have to pay a tuition fee of EUR 1.500 per semester.
