Electronic systems in automobiles consist of control units, their networking and the associated sensors and actuators. The subject combination "Electronic Systems" expands the fundamentals of electronic circuit development and microcontroller technology for the complete systems acquired in the degree program to date. The interaction of hardware and software in the control units is taught in the lectures "Circuit Development" and "Embedded Systems in Vehicles". In the lecture "Distributed Systems", the requirements for the bus systems used in vehicles are discussed and the knowledge acquired is applied to the networking of a sensor. In the course "Project Laboratory - Electronic Systems", the planning and realization of projects are worked out. The development of modern systems is not possible without the use of simulations. These are dealt with in the subject "Model-based software development". To ensure that electronic systems in vehicles function reliably and do not influence each other, it is necessary to comply with "Electromagnetic Compatibility", the basics of which are presented in the lecture "EMC".
