Course content

Do you want to study Business Administration and at the same time find space for your interest in sales? The Management and Sales degree programme provides

  • A broad and sound core education in business administration
  • Knowledge about sales and customer management, market research, behavioural and sales psychology   
  • Industry-specific expertise and practical experience in the selected specialisation Finance, Commerce or Industry, a comprehensive language training in Business English as well as the ethical and cultural aspects of management   

Specialisations

You decide! In the main study programme you can choose an industry-related specialisation, depending on your interests and which branch of the profession you want to go into. So you can supplement your business management knowledge with a specialisation – choosing between the financial sector, wholesale and retail or for industrial and consumer goods companies.

  • In the specialisation Finance you will become familiar with various financial products and learn about the latest developments in the financial sector.
  • The specialisation Commerce imparts competencies around retail marketing and the logistical challenges of retail companies.
  • In the specialisation Industry you will learn more about the specific questions and issues around sales in industrial companies and acquire the technical foundations for industrial sales.

Course of studies

The study programme is modular. A module can comprise one or more teaching events that are grouped thematically.

In the first two academic semesters you will be taught sound basic business skills which are divided into the following modules:

  • Economic principles of management
  • Management decisions in operational performance processes
  • Quantitative methods and business information systems
  • Business English
  • Principles of corporate accounting
  • Legal and tax framework of management
  • Academic work   

    • In the 4-semester main course joint courses are held on sales and customer management, market research, behavioural and sales psychology as well as the ethical and cultural aspects of management. In addition, you will acquire sector-specific competencies in the chosen area of specialisation. Students can choose to specialise in finance, commerce or industry. The modules of the joint course units are listed below:

  • Sales Management I–III
  • Customer Management
  • Legal Framework for Sales
  • Ethical Aspects of Management
  • Business English III and IV
  • Market Research
  • General Management
  • Extracurricular Studies

    • In addition, there are the modules of the chosen specialisation as well as the practical semester and the Bachelor’s thesis.

    A practical semester is integrated into the degree programme in the 5th semester. This gives you the opportunity to apply the knowledge you have acquired in a company of your choice in Germany or abroad and to get an insight into a potential career field in the industry.

    In this specialisation you will acquire detailed knowledge of the products of the financial sector. This is summarised in the following modules:

    • Introduction to Financial Markets
    • lntroduction to Banking and Taxation
    • Specialist Banking and Insurance Business Studies –Introduction to lnsurance
    • Specialist Banking and Insurance Business Studies –Financial Markets and Products
    • Accounting and Management of Financial Products – Asset Management
    • Legal Framework for Financial Service Providers
    • Special Sales Management - Financial Sales
    • Regulatory Framework of Financial Service Providers – Financial Regulation
    • Selected Aspects of the International Finance Market

    In addition to basic technical training, in the specialisation in Industry you will also acquire skills in all aspects of sales in industrial companies. The content is combined in the following modules:

  • Logistics
  • Innovation Management and Brand management
  • Sales Management IV–VI
  • Technical Basis for Industrial Sales
  • Business Simulation Game – Industry
  • Sales Controlling

    • In addition to basic technical training, in the specialisation in Industry you will also acquire skills in all aspects of sales in industrial companies. The content is combined in the following modules:
